Pyrolysis Reactor CFD Analysis – Muhamad Fadhil Maulana 2206043315

For this assignment, each of us have to try to analyze pyrolysis reactor using CFD. Since no parameter was given, i used AI to look up general size and temperature of pyrolysis reactor is operated on. The data i had from AI is for small industrial scale tube the diameter is 5cm, length is 1m, temperature 900 Kelvin, and velocity from the inlet 0.1 m/s

The pyrolysis reactor i used is a simplified design from this :

The result of CFD analysis using Siemens Star CCM+ :

Temperature Scalar Plane
Temperature Streamline
Pressure Scalar Plane

From this analysis it shows that high temperature equals high pressure and low velocity in pyrolysis reactor. This analysis might not be accurate because of the different design in reactor. But i hope it can represent the flow of air in pyrolysis reactor.

I wasn’t able to analyze the accurate model of the reactor as it requires furnace or fire beneath the tube and the velocity inlet is not directly attached to the tube, it used to give airflow to the fire.
